“Mugs for Jugs” could it be bigger than skiing…

As I canoed up the overflowing Afon Llwyd River laden down with more Kings prizes than you could shake a stick at the clouds parted and the rain gods took the moisture north to those leagues less fortunate than ours to leave us with a clear night.

After an excellent round 1 my expectations were high as I returned to Pontypool for the second round of the Great Western League.

Special Halloween Rules were implemented with fancy dress compulsory, so the selection of Witches, Pumpkins, Demons and Skeletons made their way onto the slope only to find the lift had been stolen by the rag and bone men

Alongside the Luxury coaches of Bristol, Exeter and Cardiff were parked a couple of VW Camper vans bursting with bikini clad surf babes, it was good to see Plymouth were back. Almost more exciting was the presence of a new team indicated by the donkey and cart with the words “Aberystwyth Institute of Ovine Studies” hand written in purple crayon.

The region which covers Wales and the South West of England has been dominated by Bristol University Ski Club which is the most successful Club in Kings Ski Club 30 year History.

Fancy Dress??

What??? Yes, its true... we really don't take the racing 100% seriously (it's fun after all) - so even if you've never raced before, you could still win prizes or raise a few laughs by turning up at our events in costume!
